The Toolmaker role is responsible for fabricating, maintaining, and repairing equipment and machinery promptly to build custom automation, robotic work cells, and machinery projects. This position will be focusing on machining parts and producing tools/dies as well as assisting with maintenance of equipment when needed. Toolmaker / Machine Builder – Automation & Robotics Location: Brampton, ON, Canada Department: Machinery Job Type: Full Time, Permanent Schedule: Mon – Fri Qualifications: Minimum of 2 – 5 Years of Experience . Preferably in Automation Manufacturing Environment / Robotics. Minimum of 2 years related experience or training. Experience in OEM and Tier 1 an asset Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
Knowledge of tool and die, machine repair, crane usage, lathe, and reading drawings is an asset. Knowledge and use of power tools; grinder, cutting torch, welding machine, etc. A forklift license is an asset. Ability to operate tools and machinery safely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Read and understand technical drawings to determine materials and machines required to fabricate parts.
Follow through blueprints and assemble according to floor plan layout; assemble projects in a safe and timely manner while following proper procedures and the timeline for the following department to accomplish their tasks accordingly. Develop specifications from general descriptions of specialty tools. Use precision measuring tools to ensure parts meet required tolerances. Modify and shim tooling and fixtures into required specifications if needed.
Assemble machines and tooling as per specifications. Test parts and identify any defects; ensure parts meet specifications. Assist other trades and operators as required. Identify potential improvements and provide solutions promptly.
Ensure machines and hand tools are working safely; troubleshoot and resolve any issues promptly. Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at end of the day. Act safely, within fabrication shop rules and guidelines Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
