POSITION DESCRIPTION
Description:
Volaris is seeking a seasoned M&A Director to lead and manage acquisition opportunities, encompassing valuation, negotiation, due diligence, and securing investment rationale and approvals. This pivotal role, reporting directly to the Portfolio Manager, demands close collaboration with senior management to identify, qualify, manage, and execute strategic acquisition opportunities globally, aligning with our capital deployment objectives.

Job Description:


M&A Execution:

  • Conduct comprehensive analysis and presentation of target company financials.
  • Oversee acquisition transactions from preliminary assessment to integration.
  • Lead in financial modeling, due diligence, negotiation, investment approval, and post-acquisition monitoring, managing multiple transactions annually.
  • Direct an acquisition team, including M&A specialists and cross-functional experts (IT, Technology, HR, Legal, Finance) for each deal.

Business Development:

  • Identify and evaluate vertical market software businesses that fulfill our strategic and metric criteria, enriching our proprietary database.
  • Initiate and maintain meaningful dialogues with owners, shareholders, and stakeholders.
  • Consistently nurture leads to advance prospective targets through the sales pipeline.
  • Collaborate with the M&A business development team to ensure effective nurturing and handling of acquisition opportunities.
  • Organize and execute prospecting campaigns via LinkedIn, email, calls, trade shows, and in-person meetings.


Qualifications:


Professional:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant M&A experience, with a keen interest in software businesses and a background in business development (including sourcing, cold-calling, pitching).
  • Experience in Software Companies, M&A, Private Equity, or B2B Start-Ups highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, and strong capabilities in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Big 4 experience considered an asset, as well as experience with public company acquisitions (buy/sell side) and a debt financing background.
  • Established connections within the industry preferred.

  • Willingness to travel (10-25% of the time).
