Under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager, the Logistics Coordinator will play a crucial role in coordinating and optimizing transportation and logistics activities, ensuring timely and efficient movement of goods. You will be responsible for shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs documents, ensuring compliance with shipping regulations and customs requirements. You will communicate with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to provide updates on shipment status to achieve operational excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule shipments with carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics service providers.
• Ensure timely pick-up and delivery of goods.
• Monitor and track the movement of shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
• Collaborate with customs brokers to facilitate smooth customs clearance.
• Address and resolve any issues or delays in transportation.
• Act as a point of contact for inquiries related to logistics and shipping.
• Optimize shipping routes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries and report any safety concerns or incidents immediately.
• Work with carriers to negotiate rates and service agreements.
• Coordinate with distribution and production teams to ensure accurate stock levels.
• Assist in the resolution of inventory discrepancies related to transportation.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and concerns related to shipments.
• Proactively communicate with customers regarding order status and delivery updates.

Skills, Education, and/or Experience

• Education in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in logistics coordination or a similar role is preferred.
• Familiarity with transportation regulations and customs procedures.
• Analytical, attention to detail, and decision-making skills required.
• Organizational and time management skills required.
• Technical skills required for computers and tablets.
• Able to work proficiently in a team-oriented setting, as well as independently.
• Familiarity with Health and Safety guidelines.

Job Conditions

Physical Demands:

• Light physical effort – able to lift up to 20lbs.
• Sitting, lifting, squatting, pushing, pulling, or reaching for intermittent or extended periods.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and looking at a computer.

Work Environment:

• Factory, Warehouse, Distribution Center, Office.
• May be exposed to loud, repetitive sounds from machinery or equipment.
• May use chemicals or other in accordance with MSDS.
• May operate machinery in close proximity or with objects exposed to eyes or face.
