Brief description

The Local Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering small and large orders to residential and commercial client locations across HRM. Picking up product orders from vendors around the province and moving supplies and equipment between farms. They will accompany the installation team(s) on site transporting plant materials, people and tools. ** This part time position is often combined with another position

Responsibilities

  • Organizing and loading orders
  • This position requires heavy lifting
  • Use of smartphone for navigation, communication with company and customers and documenting proof of delivery
  • Problem solving customer order issues
  • Vehicle maintenance such as maintaining safety kit, tire pressure, oil top ups, fueling
  • Maintaining vehicle cleanliness inside and out
  • Maintaining a clean and professional appearance and demeanor at all times
  • Kindness and clear communication skills
  • Proper PPE usage is required while operating company vehicles
  • Loading and unloading materials from personal and commercial vehicles

Requirements and skills

  • Must be over 25
  • Must have a valid class 5 drivers license
  • Possess a clean driving record
  • Be able to demonstrate safe driving practices and operation of vehicles
  • Handling heavy loads
  • Physically demanding
