We are seeking a skilled and passionate cook with expertise in steak preparation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience cooking various cuts of steak to perfection, ensuring consistent quality and taste.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook steak dishes according to customer preferences (e.g., rare, medium, well-done).
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
- Follow food safety guidelines, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
- Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and marinating ingredients as needed.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and communicate needs to management.
- Maintain equipment and utensils in good working condition, reporting any issues promptly.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations while working in the kitchen environment.
- Assist in planning menus, determining size of food portions
- Assist in hiring and training kitchen staff.
Experience
- Proven experience cooking steaks in a professional kitchen.
- Knowledge of different steak cuts and preparation methods.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques is essential.
- Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures is beneficial.
- Steak cooking knowledge is a must
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team setting.
