GFL Environmental is looking for an Industrial Services Technician for our liquids line of business The day to day responsibilities of this role will include: environmental and safety monitoring at our site, specialized industrial cleaning, unloading trucks, operating forklift, truck and power washers, and administrative duties as required.Who we are:GFL Environmental is the only major diversified environmental services company in North America; operating across Canada and the United States; offering services in solid waste management, liquid waste management, and infrastructure development.Recognized by our signature fleet of bright green trucks and equipment, we offer a wide range of environmental and industrial services to businesses, communities, and households, providing a consolidated and sophisticated approach to meeting our customers’ needs.GFL Benefits:Our industry leading benefits package (100% employer paid)RRSP Matching: We support your future goals by matching your RRSP contributionsAn environment to encourage professional growth and developmentKey Responsibilities:Responsible for day to day monitoring or assigned project.Maintain cleanliness of Tools and Equipment and Industrial Services Shop.Power washing and High Pressure Water blasting as required.Line snaking, Drain and Pipe Inspections as required.Industrial cleaning of chemical non-hazardous and hazardous wastes.Assist on Vacuum Trucks/plant operations as required.Confined Space Entry/ Rescue as required for Industrial Services Projects.Working in tight or cramped spaces.Working while using Respirator or Supplied Air Breathing Apparatus.Shoveling, Jack Hammering, Squeegee, Scraping and heavy lifting as required.Operate Pick-up truck, utility trailer, forklift, excavator, bobcat, etc.Operate Aerial boom lift/Scissor Lift as required.Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:Experience working in Industrial settings an asset.Previous experience with Vacuum Trucks, Industrial Power-washing or Water-blasting, or Liquid Waste Industry experience strongly preferred.Previous experience with Confined Space Entry or Work at Heights an asset.Experience working with Respirators and Supplied Air Systems an asset.Lift truck, scissor lift or zoom boom ticket an asset.Ability to work flexible hours/shifts, days, evenings, nights & possibly weekends or holidays.Class G license required.AZ/DZ License is considered an asset.Must be comfortable with driving and maneuvering a pick-up truck and trailer unit.Friendly and professional, able to deal directly with customer contacts on site.Ability to multi-task, take direction and work without supervision or within a team at times.Working in areas that may be extreme hot or cold.Working at heights greater than 3 meters.Will be required to wear protective gear i.e.; fall arrest, respirator, tyvek suit etc.Health and safety conscious and orientated.GFLTalentWe thank you for your interest.
