Job Title/Description: Jr. Energy Analyst

Perform the data/energy analysis for energy audits (ASHRAE Level 1-3 or similar), scoping studies, and detailed feasibility studies (DFS), as qualified by the Sales or Operations Team(s). Develop energy baselines/benchmarks and identify energy retrofit opportunities for clients. Identify, apply for, and manage the energy incentive process to support the sale of the project.



The Jr.

Energy Analyst position supports the national Sales and Operations Team(s) and reports to the National Operations Energy Lead based in Mississauga, Ontario. The Jr. Energy Analyst position may not necessarily be local to Mississauga, Ontario. Up to 50 percent travel time (Ex. tradeshows, conferences, site visits, etc.) is possible.

This position provides technical and managerial growth opportunities within Carmichael.



Key Responsibilities:
Perform the data/energy analysis for energy audits, scoping studies, and detailed feasibility studies (DFS).
Develop and lead energy retrofit, building automation/controls, and decarbonization opportunities with the Sales and Operations Team(s).
Generate Energy Star Portfolio Manager profiles on behalf of clients.
Create RETScreen models from site-related information provided by audits, site drawings, equipment lists, or Sales and Operations professional(s).
Perform Measurement and Verification (M&V) reports, inclusive of statistical analysis or industry engineering calculations as required by the provincial utility or federal incentive/rebate programs.
Understand networks, integration, and standardized IT practices.
Organize and drive project deliverables to maximize energy-efficient strategies.
Incorporate financial overviews for each project to demonstrate feasibility and benefit to the client.
Streamline internal processes and methodologies for efficient/effective delivery of project objectives.
Positive attitude with a passion to succeed in a team environment.
Build effective and persistent personal lines of communication with internal Sales and Operations Team(s), local utilities, CIET, AEE, and other associations, technical committees, and key participants in the energy industry.
Experience and Qualifications:
Development goal of and/or enrolled in CET, CEM, or CMVP Certification(s) and/or P. Eng.
Business development and sales acumen.
Competent understanding (4+ years preferred) of building sciences including HVAC, technical data, technology, construction, and life cycle refresh strategies.
Capable of analyzing and creating financial and statistical models/assessments to secure sales and long-term relationships with client(s).
Microsoft Office suite, Excel (intermediate level), Word, etc.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
