Tacten is seeking IRATA certified Journeyperson Welders with CWB certification to support the Nova Chemicals Spring 2026 Outage. This role supports non-pressure welding scope only, including structural steel, supports, brackets, and repair work not governed by ABSA pressure regulations. In this role, you'll be a vital part of a high-performing team, completing complex work at height with precision, efficiency, and an unwavering commitment to safety. Rotation 6 days on / 1 day off
Shift Length 12 hours
LOA $165/day
Perform non-pressure welding activities in support of maintenance and turnaround scopes.
Weld structural steel components, including brackets, braces, supports, and frames.
Execute welds using SMAW process in accordance with CWB standards and site procedures.
Perform welding in multiple positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead).
Interpret drawings, isometrics, and work packages related to structural scope.
Collaborate with pipefitters, ironworkers, and maintenance teams as required.
Maintain compliance with Nova safety, quality, and permit-to-work systems.
Journeyperson Welder certification
IRATA Level 1 or willingness to obtain
Valid CWB SMAW ticket (All Position)
F4 filler metal (Carbon Steel)
Experience in industrial maintenance or turnaround environments
Strong attention to weld quality and safety standards
