Consultant, ICT Systems Architecture
Location: Winnipeg, MB Employment Type: Full-time Hybrid 3 Days Onsite/wk
The Opportunity

Our client, a premier provider of Managed and Professional IT Services, is looking for a Consultant to design, implement, and secure complex hybrid environments for their diverse business clientele. This role is perfect for a self-starter who thrives on innovation and hands-on technical leadership across systems, network, and security domains. Must-Have Qualifications (The Essentials)
We are seeking a candidate with a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on ICT infrastructure design experience.
- ICT Systems Architecture/Design: 3-5+ years of experience designing secure, scalable infrastructure.
- Virtualization Expert: 3-5+ years with VMWare, KVM, and Hyper-V.
- Networking Core: Expertise in both wired and wireless network design, implementation, and management.
- ️ Security & Firewalls: Experience managing firewalls and securing complex Hybrid Environments (On-prem/Cloud).
- ️ Cloud/Systems: Strong administration skills in MS Windows Server and M365/Azure (2-3+ years).
- Linux: Hands-on experience with Linux OS (2-3+ years).
- ️ Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
- Requirement: Valid Driver's License and access to a vehicle (Travel is required).
Role Responsibilities (What You'll Do)
The core responsibilities are split into four key areas:
- Design & Architecture: Lead the development and maintenance of network, systems, and security architectures. Conduct risk assessments and translate business needs into technical blueprints.
- Implementation & Support: Perform hands-on configuration, deployment, troubleshooting, and ensure all security measures are tested and compliant.
- Advisory & Collaboration: Act as a technical subject matter expert (SME) for clients and internal teams, providing guidance and assisting with project proposals.
- Research & Documentation: Evaluate emerging technologies (POCs) and produce clear, detailed documentation for all implemented solutions.
Nice-to-Have Skills (A Bonus)
Candidates with the following skills will be highly prioritized:
- Public Cloud: Experience with AWS (2-3+ years).
- Automation: Scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python, Shell, SQL).
- Certifications: CCNA/CCNP or other relevant Security/Systems certifications.
- Security Tools: Familiarity with Vulnerability Scanning tools like Tenable or Nessus.
- Networking Products: Prior experience with Aruba/Silverpeak.
Other Things to Note
- Work Environment: Fast-paced, project-driven, and requires managing multiple simultaneous priorities.
- Travel: Required for client sites and implementations.
