We are currently seeking a highly organized and motivated
HR Coordinator
for a
12–18 month period
to cover a maternity leave, ensuring continuity for our team. The HR Coordinator will play a key role in supporting recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training initiatives, and HR reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Coordinate the full-cycle recruitment process, including drafting job descriptions, posting job openings, screening candidates, and participating in interviews.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and support selection decisions.
- Manage the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing employment documentation, conducting orientation sessions, and ensuring completion of required paperwork.
- Ensure a smooth and positive onboarding experience for all new employees.
Employee & Industrial Relations
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, providing guidance and support on HR policies and procedures.
- Assist in addressing employee relations matters promptly and professionally, ensuring fair and consistent resolution.
- Support investigations and documentation related to workplace concerns as required.
Performance Management
- Support the organization's performance management process, including coordinating performance reviews, goal setting, and development planning.
- Provide guidance to managers on performance-related matters.
Training & Development
- Identify organizational training needs and coordinate internal and external training programs.
- Assist in the development and delivery of training sessions related to safety, compliance, and professional development.
- Track and maintain training records and certifications.
HR Reporting & Recordkeeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, personnel files, and HR databases.
- Prepare HR reports and analyze metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
Provide general office support, including:
- Assist with ordering office lunch
- Plan/coordinate company social events
- Printer troubleshooting and coordination with IT or service providers.
- Ordering and maintaining office supply inventory.
- Ensure adequate paper supply in all copiers; order when stock is low
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of employment standards and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (BambooHR).
