Job Description: What’s in store.

MGI Construction Corporation is a multi-service construction company with multiple and overlapping generations of experience in the industry.

Our 4 divisions are:

Environmental: Asbestos Removal, In-situ and Ex-situ Remediation, Soil Stabilization and Reengineering, Brownfield Site Management, Underground Tank and Ancillary Piping Removal.

Demolition: Concrete Recycling, Aggregate Crushing and Screening, Complete Interior/Exterior Demolition and Abatement, Asset and Salvage Recovery.


Earthworks: Bulk, Strip, Muck, Footing, Trench, and Topsoil Excavation –Ditching, Backfill, Grading, Hauling and Shoring Services.

Heavy Civil: Storm and Sanitary Connection/Installation, Watermain, and Roadworks – Including Asphalt, Curb and Gutter, Sidewalk.


This position is responsible for the organization and management of recruitment efforts, the administration of benefits and compensation, and the continual building of relations with our employees. Other administrative tasks and health and safety collaborative efforts may also be required. The hours of work will consistently be 40 hours per week, (flexible hours) depending on varying contracts and timelines—overtime, weekends and/or evenings are not required.



Responsibilities: What’s typical.


HR Coordinators at MGI will come across and engage with tasks such as:


  • Build meaningful relationships with all employees
  • Create career pathing models and development plans for our employees
  • Respond to various inquiries relating to HR policies and procedures
  • Attract talent that is beneficial to our company and maintain current talent
  • Maintain job descriptions as jobs change, new positions are created and/or as our company grows
  • Post and sort job advertisements, source resumes, conduct phone pre-screens, arrange interviews, and conduct reference checks 
  • Drive employee engagement activities and initiatives
  • Facilitate employee recognition programs
  • Act as a liaison with the Payroll team
  • Review timecards and employee attendance tracking
  • Develop college recruiting schedules and programs then participate in campus recruiting activities and/or job fairs

Skills and Training: What’s preferred.

  • Reliable transportation, such as a G-license
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • A love for networking
  • Flexible
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication
  • Foundation in Canadian employment law
  • Bilingual (English/French)
  • Mature judgement handling sensitive information
  • Fluency in technology and social media
  • Degree/s or equivalent

Salary and Compensation: What’s rewarded.


MGI Construction encourages applicants of all educational backgrounds, ages, genders and experience levels. Your hourly wage rate will depend on your education, experience, and skill level and will include opportunities to grow your career and increase your salary. We offer competitive salaries starting as high as $18/hour and with experience, knowledge, and education you could make as high as $28/hour. Positions may also include extended benefit packages and select training such as education or certification.
