Job Description

We are seeking an HR Coordinator to assist in daily human resources operations, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee record-keeping. This role ensures compliance with labor laws and library policies, supports staff development, and acts as a liaison between employees and management. Typically requires 3-5 years of HR experience and strong organizational skills. Salary starts at 23.00,salary to commensurate withexperience.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to…



  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Post job openings, screen candidates, coordinate interviews, conduct background checks, and manage new hire orientations and paperwork.

  • Benefits & Payroll: Administer employee benefits (health, dental, retirement), assist with open enrollment, and process payroll, time-off, and leave of absence requests.

  • Records and Compliance: Maintain accurate, confidential personnel files and records. Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and library policies.

  • Employee Relations: Act as a resource for staff regarding policies, procedures, and benefits. Assist with performance review tracking.

  • General HR Support: Support staff development, assist with HR-related projects, and maintain staff directories or intranets.


Qualifications


Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.



  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in HR, with specific experience in payroll or HR administration preferred.

  • Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to serve staff and management effectively.


Working Conditions



  • Will involve a mix of desk work, computer work, and interaction with library staff, and/or patrons. May require flexibility to attend meetings or assist with special events.

Hours


37.5 hrs weekly. Evenings and weekends a must.


$22.00, to commensurate with experience.
