Job Description

About Cowboys Casino

Cowboys Casino was established in 2011 and is owned by the Calgary Stampede. Located in the heart of downtown Calgary, Cowboys Casino is home to over 280 employees in 7 different departments. The facility is open to the public 9:30AM – 5AM daily, has 3 restaurants, a dancehall, 32 table games, a 24-hour Poker room, over 370 slot machines and a sport viewing lounge. Operating 364 days a year Cowboys Casino is a staple in the city of Calgary and a premier entertainment destination.

The Clean-Up Crew Behind the Chaos

We're looking for a housekeeper with a focus on floor cleaning and maintenance— someone who takes pride in transforming chaos back into a pristine gaming floor. If you are detail-oriented, love operating heavy-duty cleaning equipment, and want to see the direct results of your hard work every single shift, keep reading.

What Your Shift Really Looks Like

This is a role primarily focused on floor cleaning and maintenance. Cleaning floors will constitute roughly 60% of the role, with the other 40% being regular housekeeping duties.

  • Operate industrial cleaning machines across the casino floor and get the job done on thousands of square feet of carpet, vinyl, tile, and concrete
  • Hunt down and eliminate the evidence of thousands of guests – gum on carpets, mystery stains on gaming tables, spilled drinks in corners, and debris that appear out of nowhere
  • Execute a systematic two-week cleaning circuit that covers every inch of the casino floor, ensuring nothing gets missed and standards stay high
  • Strip and reapply floor coatings to keep our floors looking showroom-new despite thousands of people walking across them daily
  • Work independently but stay connected – you're covering your zone solo, but responding to radio calls and jumping in to help teammates and other departments when needed

The Reality Check

After a weekend Flames game, Cowboys Casino can look a bit like a war zone. You'll be on your feet for hours operating heavy equipment, bending, lifting, and moving constantly. The housekeepers who thrive here take genuine pride in their work – they love seeing a filthy floor transform into something pristine, and they don't need someone watching over their shoulder to do the job right.

Here's What We Need from You

  • Pride in your craft – you care about doing the job right, not just getting it done
  • Ability to work independently –you know your zone and run it without constant supervision
  • Detail-oriented eye – you spot the stains, debris, and problems others would walk right past
  • Physical capability to lift 50 lbs, operate heavy cleaning equipment for hours, and handle cleaning tasks
  • Flexibility under pressure – when 1,500 intoxicated hockey fans create a disaster zone, you get it handled the next morning
  • Willingness to help guests – even though cleaning is your focus, you are still passionate about creating extraordinary escapes for our guests

Experience & Qualifications

  • 1-2 years carpet cleaning experience with industrial cleaning equipment preferred (auto-scrubbers, swing machines, and commercial vacuums),but we'll train the right person who shows they care about quality work
  • Able to speak and write fluent English
  • Physical capability for extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and lifting
  • Must be legally permitted to work in Canada and be able to pass a background check

What You'll Get

  • Work with a team of housekeepers who have your back
  • Training on all equipment and procedures to set you up for success
  • Benefits package including health, dental, and vision coverage for full-time employees
  • The satisfaction of seeing tangible results from your hard work every single shift
  • Pride in maintaining one of Calgary's premier entertainment destinations
  • Recognition and rewards as you will participate in the Cowboys Way employee recognition program from day one

Not Right For You If...

  • You need constant supervision or direction
  • You're looking for a quiet, low-pressure cleaning job
  • You can't handle working around intoxicated or unpredictable guests

Perfect For You If...

  • You take genuine pride in transforming messy spaces into clean ones
  • You love operating equipment and seeing immediate results
  • You can work independently and stay motivated without someone watching
  • You want to master your craft and be part of a team that maintains high standards

Ready to prove you can keep Cowboys Casino looking its best? We're looking for housekeepers who embody the Cowboys Way – people who take pride in their work, support their teammates, and understand that creating extraordinary escapes starts with a clean, welcoming environment. If that's you, we want to hear from you.
