Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Personal Support Worker to provide comprehensive care and assistance to a Couple with needs. This role involves supporting residents in their daily activities within a home or community setting, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care, disability support, or related fields and possess a strong commitment to enhancing quality of life through personalized care. This is a paid position that offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve. The Client will provide living accommodations.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and observe patient conditions, noting any changes in health or behavior
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation
- Maintain accurate documentation of care plans, medication administration, and patient progress in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning resident areas to ensure a safe and hygienic environment
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans and provide holistic support
- Engage residents in social activities to promote mental well-being and community involvement
- Follow all safety protocols, including CPR and First Aid procedures to ensure resident safety at all times
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, home health, hospice care, or long-term care environments preferred
- Knowledge of patient monitoring, medication administration, and vital signs assessment
- Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are highly desirable
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or memory care needs preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for resident transfers or mobility support
- Strong observational skills for patient safety and condition monitoring
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of resident information
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills and patience for working with vulnerable populations
- Ability to work independently within a supportive team environment in a live-in setting
