Job Description


Based in Southport, Manitoba, CHL has openings for Rotary Wing Academic and Flight Training Device (FTD) Instructors in support of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Contracted Flying Training and Support (CFTS) program. Instructors report to the Chief Rotary Wing Instructor - CFTS and will be assigned duties commensurate with their qualifications and on-site requirements, including:



  • Delivering ground school lectures,

  • Delivering FTD lessons, and

  • Conducting maintenance support activities as required.


Period of Work: This is a full-time position, 40 hours / week.


Qualifications



  • Licence, any of the following:

    • Transport Canada (TC) Commercial Pilot Licence - Helicopter;

    • Foreign Commercial Pilot Licence - Helicopter;

    • Current/former RCAF helicopter pilot;

    • Current/former foreign military helicopter pilot qualification



  • Hours, minimum of:

    • 500 Helicopter Pilot in Command hours; or

    • 200 Operational Training Unit Instructor Pilot hours for military applicants



  • Able to maintain TC medical for flying positions

  • TC Instructor Rating Class 1, 2, 3, 4
    • Waived for current/former RCAF and foreign military pilots in certain circumstances


  • TC Class IV Instrument Rating, or equivalent, preferable

  • Night Vision Goggle experience preferable

  • Must hold a valid Canadian Driver’s Licence or an International Driving Permit

  • Must provide satisfactory documentation on request

  • Must provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test

  • Must provide an international criminal background check clearance


Education



  • Minimum of a completed University degree, or equivalent applicable knowledge

  • Graduation from a certified flying or aviation school

Remuneration



  • Annual salary: $110 000.00 to $200 000.00 based on experience. Bonuses possible based on performance.
