Role Description
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a full-time, unionized, based in Dartmouth, NS, with some flexibility for remote work. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of heavy equipment, including cranes, boom trucks, and other machinery. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving mechanical and technical issues, performing routine equipment maintenance, and collaborating with the team to ensure the equipment operates safely and efficiently. The candidate should possess strong technical expertise and prioritize adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
Qualifications
Proficiency in Equipment Maintenance and Vehicle Maintenance to ensure machinery operates efficiently and safely.
Strong skills in Equipment Repair and Heavy Equipment operations to successfully diagnose and resolve mechanical issues.
Expertise in Troubleshooting to identify and address equipment failures in a timely and effective manner.
Formal training or certification in heavy equipment mechanics or a related field.
Experience with hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and safety compliance is highly beneficial.
Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with other team members.
A valid driver's license and the ability to travel locally as required for service or maintenance duties.
