Journeyman Agriculture Equipment Technician / Heavy Equipment Technician
Location: Lethbridge, AB

We are seeking a highly skilled Red Seal Agriculture Equipment Technician or Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of agricultural or heavy equipment. This role requires an individual with strong technical skills, a passion for working with large machinery, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain agricultural or heavy-duty equipment, including tractors, combines, loaders, excavators, and more.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to identify issues and perform repairs.
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and repairs to ensure the equipment operates at optimal efficiency.
- Test and operate repaired equipment to verify repairs are successful.
- Keep detailed records of service work, including parts used and hours worked on equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Use specialized tools, diagnostic equipment, and technical manuals to conduct repairs.
- Assist in training apprentices and provide mentorship where necessary.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years of experience with agricultural or heavy-duty equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical systems.
- Proficiency with diagnostic software and specialized tools.
- Excellent understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic welding and fabrication skills are an asset.
- Familiarity with computerized inventory and work order systems preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment (up to 60-70 lbs).
- Standing, walking, bending, and crouching for extended periods.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions as needed.
