On our farm we have a bakery that makes fresh baked breads, pies, pastries, and creates sandwiches and salads from fresh local produce.
We also host special events like our yearly Mother's Day Tea, Harvest festival, local makers markets, and our U-Pick Pumpkin Patch.
Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Grocery Associate to join our retail team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, maintaining store organization, and assisting customers with their shopping needs. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and a passion for delivering a positive shopping experience. Experience in retail sales or merchandising are a plus, as is familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures. This position offers an opportunity to develop valuable skills in customer service, sales, and retail operations within a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products or answering questions about store items
- Operate POS systems for checkout, handle cash transactions accurately, and process returns or exchanges
- Maintain store merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, aisles, and checkout areas
- Manage inventory levels through proper stock rotation and reporting low-stock items to management
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries professionally via phone or in person
- Assist with store opening and closing procedures as needed
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills
- Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service is an asset
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and basic math skills for transactions
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Good phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse customers
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or evenings if required
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual
Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
