Job Title: General Production WorkerJob Description

As a General Production Worker, you will rotate workstations between feeding finished candy onto the dumping table and inspecting candy quality to ensure that packaged products meet quality standards. You will be required to pack bagged candy into cardboard boxes and manually load these boxes onto empty pallets for the warehouse. Communication of material requirements to the appropriate personnel is vital, as well as providing support to machine operators as needed. You will also be responsible for continuously cleaning the area surrounding your workstation, maintaining general work centre cleanliness, supporting major line cleaning, and performing end-of-shift cleaning. Additionally, you will be responsible for fixing jam-ups, recording batch numbers and times for every new pallet of candy, and ensuring all packaged products meet GMP and food safety requirements. Understanding and following SOPs and work instructions, as well as supporting all safety programs, policies, and initiatives within the manufacturing location, is essential. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

This permanent opportunity offers growth with a large, established employer that is very stable in the industry. Employees receive reimbursement for safety shoes up to $75 after three months of service. Overtime is compensated after 40 hours.

The work environment is a large manufacturing/GMP facility with heavily automated, state-of-the-art equipment. It is temperature-controlled and very clean, with compliance to GMP requirements including PPE such as hairnets, beardnets, and coats. Safety shoes are required. The facility operates 24/7 with rotating continental day and night shifts (7-7). There are about 400-500 total employees at the facility, with about 100 people per crew (4 crews). The schedule rotates, and those interested in working only days or nights may be eligible for contract work.

This is a Contract position based out of Hamilton, ON.

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
