Position DetailsTransportation and Infrastructure - Government of Newfoundland and Labrador
Reporting to and supporting the Director of General Insurance and Financial Analysis, the General Adjuster and Claims Administrator is an Internal Adjuster responsible for the administration and management of insured and uninsured claims for core Government and property and commercial general liability claims related to Government entities. This position also ensures the protection of government assets, employees and the general public through the implementation and monitoring of appropriate risk management measures. This position primarily manages claims of varying complexity for property, boiler and machinery, marine, commercial general liability, and aviation losses. The incumbent also acts as a backup for auto and other road hazard claims administered by the other General Adjuster and Claims Administrator in the Division and shares claims workload with this other position, as required. This is accomplished through liaison with senior managers, employees, members of the general public, insurance brokers, external insurance adjusters, solicitors, contractors, and other stakeholders, as required. The position provides professional advice and direction on various risk, insurance and loss issues; conducts risk assessments; makes recommendations with follow-up; and prepares reports to aid in the development of risk management strategies. Other related duties as required.
Screening Criteria
Undergraduate Degree in Business. Equivalencies will be considered.
Experience adjusting commercial claims involving various insurance lines such as property, boiler and machinery, marine, commercial general liability, aviation and automobile.
A Level IV Adjuster's License.
A Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation or equivalent.
A Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation. (asset)
Experience in managing self-insured retention. (asset)
Assessment Criteria

A valid Class 5 Driver's License.
A valid Level IV Adjuster's License.
Use of a personal vehicle with proof of Business Insurance.
