Otter Co-op is now hiring a full time Fresh N Good Supervisor to assist with our Fresh N Good Food Program based out of our Parallel Food Store located in Abbotsford, BC . We operate three food and pharmacy stores (including one with a fashion and hardware department), twenty-nine Angry Otter liquor stores, two feed mills, two bulk petroleum facilities, the Angry Otter Tap & Forno and Brewery in North Vancouver, the Highwayman Pub in Abbotsford, the Sawbucks pub in South Surrey and twenty-five gas station/convenience stores.

What you’ll do: Assist with the preparation of a wide variety of products for the Gas Bar Food Program, including but not limited to deli sandwiches, baked goods, popcorn, confectionary, flavored peanuts etc. Delivery of products to our GasBars and Pubs throughout the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley. Assist to organize, direct and co-ordinate the activities and operations of the department.

Assist in managing department inventory and staff scheduling. Supervise, train, resolve conflicts and coach Deli team members. Providing responsive, exceptional service to Guests at the Deli and treat counters by answering questions, making recommendations, providing samples, and responding to requests. Recommending, slicing, weighing, packaging, and pricing meats and cheeses.

Preparing special orders and party trays. Updating displays, cases, and other customer-facing areas to ensure new items and promotions are showcased. Ensuring that work areas are ready to service customers by cleaning surfaces, equipment, and floors, removing trash, and confirming that tools are in working order. Following all food safety and sanitation procedures established by the company and other regulatory agencies.

Cooperating with others to ensure guest satisfaction. Perform opening and closing procedures. Contribute to the Team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community and Excellence . Perform other duties as assigned.

Who you are: You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations Management and: Must have Class 5 drivers license with a clean driving record . 1-2 years of Deli, Kitchen and/or Food Prep experience preferred. Must be comfortable with driving a delivery van throughout the Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley.

Ability to lift heavy items, ranging from 25 to 50 lbs., and operate equipment, such as meat andcheese slicers, scales, cash registers, etc. Excellent Guest service, communication, and math skills. Ability to comprehend and follow all company procedures and regulations regarding food handling and sanitation. A courteous and efficient approach to handling Guest requests, questions, and complaints.

Must be committed to a SAFE working environment.
