Field Service Technician (Full-Time) - Atlantic Canada

Reporting to the Eastern Region Customer Service Manager, this position is responsible for the installation and maintenance of bulk gas supply systems located at customer sites in Eastern Canada. In addition, the successful candidate will be required to work on food freezing equipment and its installation and piping.

Technical Responsibilities

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
Knowledge of gas pipes and fittings.
Basic knowledge of cryogenic equipment.
Demonstrated welding and brazing skills.
Ability to troubleshoot electronic and computer controls and instrumentation.
Must be able to manage contractors and coordinate project objectives.

Qualifications

Fluency in English and French is considered an asset.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Ability to follow technical verbal and written instructions and prepare technical reports.
Must be available after hours and for overtime as required.
Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time within Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador.
Must be able to be away from home for up to two weeks at a time.
Ability to work independently and service a territory without direct supervision.
Physically able to perform the job in a primarily outdoor environment.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal and professional communication skills.
Demonstrated awareness of safety and safe execution of current tasks.
Projects a positive image and is willing to adhere to the dress code for the position.
Physically fit and able to lift up to 70 lbs.

Education

Post-secondary education in a trade or journeyman status in electrical, instrumentation, refrigeration, welding, or other related trades.

Professional Experience

3 to 5 years of experience working with atmospheric/cryogenic gas and related equipment is considered an asset.
