Education

No degree, certificate or diploma required.

Experience (Required)

3 years to less than 5 years, experience working in this field.

Work Environment

  • Organic farming; dangerous, dusty, hot, noisy, outdoors, horticultural field crop.
  • Rural area.

Responsibilities

  • Cut agricultural crops.
  • Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable and non‑marketable lots.
  • Organize tasks to accomplish the work.
  • Oversee the process of hoeing and weeding crops.
  • Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying or harvesting.
  • Co‑ordinate and supervise general farm workers and harvesting labourers.
  • Ensure farm safety and bio‑security procedures are followed.
  • Supervise and oversee growing and other crop‑related operations.
  • Maintain work records and logs.
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
  • Perform general farm duties.

  • 11–15 people.
  • 16–20 people.

  • Carrots.
  • Cauliflowers.
  • Onions.

Equipment and Machinery Experience

  • Carrot seeder.
  • Onion seeder.
  • Automated irrigation system.
  • Harvesters.
  • Seed drill.
  • Tractor.
  • Vegetable or fruit harvester.
  • Forklift.
