We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Sawmill Moulder Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team in a key leadership capacity. As a 35-person company, every team member plays an important role in our success. This position is more than machine operation — it is a leadership opportunity for a seasoned professional who is passionate about quality, teamwork, and mentoring the next generation of operators.

In this role, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting moulding equipment to produce components efficiently, safely, and to precise specifications. Your expertise will contribute to a seamless fabrication process while helping elevate the skills and performance of the entire department.

We are also open to candidates with strong machinist backgrounds, as there is meaningful overlap in tooling, setup precision, and equipment knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor industrial moulding machinery to produce components according to schematics and production specifications
• Perform knife changes, setup adjustments, and fine-tuning to ensure optimal machine performance
• Inspect finished products for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications; make necessary adjustments to maintain standards
• Troubleshoot mechanical, tooling, and material issues to minimize downtime
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to ensure safe and efficient operation
• Accurately document production data, including measurements, machine settings, quality checks, and downtime reports
• Strictly follow safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment
• Mentor and train less-experienced operators, sharing best practices and helping build internal capability
• Collaborate closely with production, maintenance, and leadership teams to improve processes and efficiency

Qualifications

Required:

• Proven experience operating moulding machinery in a sawmill or woodworking environment
• Strong understanding of schematics and technical drawings related to moulding processes
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and related equipment
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
• Ability to perform physical work, including heavy lifting, safely

Preferred:

• Machinist experience (CNC equipment, precision measurement, tooling setup, fabrication)
• Experience mentoring, coaching, or training team members
• Demonstrated leadership ability within a production environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
