With nearly 300 retail locations, we proudly employ more than 30,000 team members.We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time temporary Events and Recognition Specialist to join our People team in Langley, BC.This position is expected to last 12 months.Reporting to the Supervisor, Events and Recognition, you will support the planning, execution, and evaluation of large-scale corporate events (500 attendees) as well as execute team member recognition programs at Pattison Food Group Ltd.You will be responsible for:Supporting the Supervisor, Events & Recognition in the event planning, coordination, and execution of corporate events such as conferences, business meetings, annual general meetings, golf tournaments, and galas.Overseeing and participating in all aspects of event execution, including venue selection, food & beverage, transportation, and on-site management.Liaising with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure timely delivery of services.Providing administrative support and overall project management for events & recognition strategies (i.e., update & maintain critical paths, travel arrangements/accommodations, transportation logistics, onsite support, database maintenance etc.)Collaborating with team members to revise processes and approach, ensuring outcomes that drive efficiencies, innovation, and positive engagement.Making continuous improvements to key processes, techniques, and procedures related to event execution and recognition programs.Keeping current on trends and advancements in event planning to make continuous improvements and recommend emerging best practices.Developing and maintaining positive relationships and networks with internal and external contacts.You have:A diploma or degree in event management, marketing, communication, or a related field., or an equivalent combination of education and experience.A minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a corporate event role.Experience developing and implementing recognition strategies and tactics is an asset.The ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend and lift up to 50 lbs.The ability to travel (Western Canada & US) for event execution on occasion.
