**Position: Evening Nurse Manager (Non-Union)

Location: Bethany Christian Living (Bethany Lodge & Manor)

Employment Type: Full-Time (initially offered as a contract position with the potential for permanent employment upon satisfactory performance)

Position Summary:

Bethany Lodge is seeking a skilled and dedicated Nurse Manager to provide leadership and support to the nursing team during evening hours. Reporting to the Director of Care, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality, resident-centred care in compliance with legislative standards, manage human and material resources, and support quality improvement initiatives. This role ensures smooth operations during evening shifts while promoting safety, efficiency, and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications:

Current Registered Nurse (RN) Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario, or equivalent from another Canadian jurisdiction, with eligibility to practice independently in Ontario under Bill 60.

Knowledge of evidence-based clinical practices and long-term care philosophies.

Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Minimum one (1) year of managerial experience in a long-term care setting (asset).

RAI-MDS / AIS certification, or willingness to obtain within one (1) year.

Intermediate to advanced computer skills.

Ability to meet all legal and regulatory requirements related to residents' rights and risk management.

Vulnerable Sector Check (within six months) and TB test/chest X-ray as per Public Health requirements.

Two supervisory references required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise registered staff and direct care personnel during evening shifts.
  • Monitor and improve quality, safety, and service delivery through evidence-based practices.
  • Support staffing, scheduling, recruitment, retention, and performance management for evening staff.
  • Address resident and family concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Counsel staff on non-compliance, unprofessional behaviour, and performance issues using progressive discipline.
  • Maintain accurate nursing documentation and coordinate resident care with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in risk management, critical incident reporting, and ensure compliance with OHSA and MOHLTC regulations.
  • Mentor staff in clinical practice, conflict resolution, and professional development.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and quality initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the Job Task Inventory.

Compensation Disclosure:

Expected compensation range $65,500 – $95,500 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Vulnerable Sector Check (including Criminal Background Check) dated within six (6) months or willingness to obtain.

  • Two (2) supervisory references.
