Job Description

Position Overview
We're looking for an HSE Advisor to support the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of our National HSE Management Program. In this role, you'll work closely with operations, manufacturing, and field teams to promote a strong safety culture, ensure compliance with provincial regulations, and continuously improve safe work practices. You'll provide hands-on guidance, deliver training, support incident investigations, and assist with audits and administrative HSE duties as needed.
This is a field-facing role that requires regular site visits and the ability to respond quickly to safety-related matters.

Key Responsibilities
Provide HSE guidance, training, and mentorship to operations teams, manufacturing facilities, and both union and non-union employees
Support compliance with company policies, procedures, client requirements, governing authorities, and applicable legislation
Conduct field, facility, and office inspections using electronic inspection and observation tools
Submit daily worksite observation reports and monthly field activity summaries
Travel to job sites as required, often on short notice
Review and update the HSE Manual and Job Safety Analyses to align with client and regulatory requirements
Advise employees and subcontractors on company, client, and legislative HSE requirements
Verify employee and subcontractor training certifications and inspect equipment
Inspect, maintain, and restock HSE equipment across sites, yards, plants, offices, and vehicles
Recommend and support regular inspections of facilities, offices, yards, and shops
Conduct and assist with orientations, training sessions, and employee coaching
Promote and reinforce a strong HSE culture across employees, subcontractors, and clients
Ensure corrective actions are completed on time and in accordance with HSE requirements
Assist with internal and external audits and client reporting
Conduct emergency response drills
Develop and distribute HSE awareness materials (e.g., toolbox talks)
Facilitate or participate in daily and weekly toolbox meetings and risk mitigation discussions
Lead or support thorough incident investigations and act as an advisor to supervisors and plant leaders
Participate in a scheduled 24/7 on-call rotation to respond to incidents and urgent HSE matters
Build strong working relationships to support clear, professional communication across teams
Support supervisors on site with tasks such as equipment spotting and traffic control
Perform other duties as assigned

Experience & Qualifications

Experience
2+ years of experience in an HSE role (preferred)
Experience delivering training, developing training materials, and conducting incident investigations
Bridge and matting industry experience is a strong asset
Exposure to supervision, safety leadership, facilitation, or management training is an asset

Education & Certifications
Minimum of NCSO, CRSP, GSC, or equivalent (or willingness to obtain)
