This position is integral to the success of the Technology & IT Services Management team, and to CAAT’s guiding mission and growth strategy.

The role of the Enterprise Architect is to empower business and technology leaders to make informed technology investment decisions that balance and prioritize tactical operational demands with the long-term strategic vision of the organization.

We are looking for someone with:

  • A degree in Business, Engineering, Systems Design, Computer Science, or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience equivalency.
  • Enterprise Architecture certification (i.e., TOGAF) – required.
  • IT Architecture Certification (ITAC) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations – which would be assets.
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience contributing to the success of a range of midsize-to-large initiatives with high levels of complexity and business criticality.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively senior experience in Information Technology with significant exposure to technology strategy development and execution.
  • A knowledge of various aspects of an enterprise architecture including business, information, data, application, technology, and security.
  • An ability to translate future-state business capabilities into target architecture, and effectively balance between the long-term (“big picture”) and short-term operational needs.
  • Proven experience with cloud platforms (specifical, cloud-native applications development, multi-tier architecture, microservices architecture, API gateways, event-driven architecture, and multi-cloud integrations.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Experience building architecture reference models, frameworks, target state and reference architectures, technology roadmaps, architecture strategies, policies, and standards.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of various Enterprise Architecture frameworks (e.g., Zachman, TOGAF, FEA) and ability to adapt and develop hybrid approaches and methodologies tailored to meet CAAT needs.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects, including the design of integrations between internal enterprise platforms and externally managed systems and services.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills including ability to visualize and explain technical concepts to non-technical audience and senior leadership.
  • Knowledge of financial models, budgeting, and risk management, and ability to estimate the financial impacts and risks of architectural proposals and alternatives.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities, plan, and manage architecture projects, and effectively re-prioritize, when needed, in a fast-paced environment.

Once here you will:

  • Drive development of the Digital Transformation strategies, define Technology Target State architectures, and develop roadmaps for its execution.
  • Lead definition of conceptual and logical architecture for large strategic initiatives and participate in program/project initiation and planning.
  • Provide architectural support for execution of the strategic cross-functional programs to enforce enterprise-wide alignment and maximize technology benefits.
  • Drive optimization, efficiency, and cost reduction of the technology portfolio through the identification of opportunities for consolidation, standardization, and shared capabilities.
  • Lead development of Enterprise Architecture frameworks, blueprints, reference architecture, and standards.
  • Collaborate and partner with domain architects and EA Governance lead on the development and alignment of portfolio and domain strategies and standards.
  • Drive adoption of Enterprise Architecture practices providing rationale, context, and consulting to business and technology groups.
  • Provide leadership in the evaluation of options and introduction of the new technology products; review and provide input to RFI’s, RFP’s and SOW’s.
  • Contribute to the EA Governance function and participate in Architecture Working Group (AWG) reviews.
  • Conduct analysis of emerging technologies and market trends, to identify potential impacts and opportunities.
  • Act as a senior advisor to the Director, Enterprise Architecture, and IT leadership team, and serve as a Subject Matter Expert in all aspects related to enterprise architecture.
