Wade Antenna Inc. is searching for a visionary engineering leader to work with and lead a team of engineers/technicians as they develop, test, modify and create solutions to technical problems . The Engineering Manager drives gross profit through resource planning and allocation and continually seeks innovative methods for improving the performance and profitability of the department and the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Hands on management of the engineering team including hire, train, lead, mentor and personal development.
• Oversee and manage research and development, product and process improvement projects and prepare detailed information for SR&ED, coordinating with management and other departments.
• Working in conjunction with the management team, spearhead our ISO initiative for the engineering discipline.
• Lead the engineering team using positive reinforcement, attainable goals and KPI's.
• Create detailed project specifications and timelines.
• Prepare budgets, approve expenditures and control costs for the department, aligning with company finances and budgets.
• Maintain and verify up-to-date compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
• Improve manufacturing processes usint current technology, automation, tooling and proven processes.
• Work closely with Sales in developing overall requirements for new products and develop attainable results from prototyping through final release.

Requirements:

• P. Eng. preferred, but will accept other qualifying certifications.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in RF engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of management and supervisor experience.
• Yellow or Green belt in Lean Manufacturing as asset.
• Proven, hands on leader, able to guide and mentor junior members.
• Contributes to a team environment, cooperating with other departments.
• Experience with 2D & 3D drawing using Autodesk Inventor.
• Knowledge of technical drawing requirements such as Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, ASME Y14 and 3D modelling techniques.
• In depth experience in standard engineering processes such as Engineering Change Orders and Deviations.
• Ability to solve structural problems such as moments, material strees, loading.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and industrial automation.
• RF experience is mandatory.
• Good experience with ERP, MS Office and other support software.
• Successful candidate must qualify for security clearance for controlled goods program including police check.
