Engineering Consultant (Inspection Procedures & CRN Applications)
We are seeking a licensed professional engineer to support the development of equipment inspection procedures and regulatory submissions. This role involves preparing technical procedures for inspections of lifting and material handling equipment, as well as coordinating CRN applications.
Key Inspection Areas
- Forklift inspections
- Aerial/vertical mast manlift inspections
- Scissor lift inspections
- Boom crane inspections
- Tower crane inspections
- Overhead traveling crane inspections
Must-Have Requirement
- Operate as an independent consultant with a registered corporation
- Proven experience with inspection procedure development and regulatory documentation
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience
- Valid safety certifications: H2S Alive, Fall Protection, and Confined Space
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or equivalent credentials
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and write clear, code-compliant inspection procedures for lifting and material handling equipment (as listed above)
- Review applicable standards, regulations, and manufacturer specifications to ensure procedure accuracy
- Prepare and submit complete CRN applications with supporting documentation
- Coordinate with internal teams and clients to gather technical data as needed
- Ensure procedures meet all safety and compliance requirements
- Work closely with Document Control to apply proper document numbering and manage revision control
- Maintain version control and organized documentation records
Skills and Assets
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with applicable CSA, ASME, and provincial safety codes is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work as an independent consultant with a registered corporation
- Strong communication and project-management abilities
Location and Eligibility
We are looking for an independent consultant with a registered corporation to join our team. This role is open to local candidates who are legally permitted to work in Canada without sponsorship.
