In addition, over 40,000 students enroll in the board’s Adult and Continuing Education Programs each year. Successful candidates will demonstrate, a desire and ability to foster a Catholic Learning Community, though leadership and collaboration. Principals will set direction by building a shared vision which is aligned with the Board’s multi-year strategic plan; and secure accountability to parents, students, the community and the Board.

Candidates will possess the following:


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Successful completion of Ontario School Principal Qualifications Course Part I and II
  • Completion of Religious Education Specialist
  • At least 5 years’ successful teaching experience with at least one year as a Vice-Principal – preference will be given to candidates who have three (3) years’ experience as a Vice-Principal
  • Experience in both school and Board-wide activities
  • Experience in a variety of settings is preferred

    LEADERSHIP PRACTISES SHOULD INCLUDE :

  • Setting directions
  • Building relationships and developing people
  • Developing the organization to support desired practices
  • Improving the instructional program
  • Securing accountability

  • Copies of all qualifications (Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualifications, The Catholic Pastoral Reference Form for a Leadership Position must be completed by the applicant’s home parish priest within the last 12 months)
  • Two letters of reference dated within the last 12 months; one of which must be from your current Supervisory Officer.
