Job Description
Almosthome Childcare/Preschool Ltd. is seeking a permanent Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) to join our team as a Substitute Educator supporting our 8 locations across Greater Victoria.
This position offers flexibility, with both part-time and full-time options available. Applicants must be available for a minimum of two full days per week. We are happy to guarantee full-time permanent hours (40–42.5 hours per week) for candidates seeking full-time employment.
This substitute role frequently transitions into a full-time, permanent position at one consistent location as openings become available, making it an excellent opportunity for someone seeking long-term stability and growth within our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom support across multiple locations as needed
- Assist with daily routines, supervision, and play-based programming
- Maintain positive and respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Adapt confidently to different classrooms and age groups
- Follow licensing requirements and company policies
Qualifications:
- Valid BC ECEA certification (required)
- Childcare experience is an asset, but not required
- On-the-job training and mentorship provided
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are an asset
- Alternatively, strong knowledge of and comfort using public transit
- Flexible, dependable, and professional
