We are seeking a results-driven District Sales Manager to lead sales growth across a defined territory within the industrial and construction supplies sector. This role is responsible for developing strategic relationships with contractors, distributors, and industrial clients, while leading and coaching a team of sales professionals to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
The ideal candidate combines strong commercial acumen, leadership capability, and a hands-on approach to territory development in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Revenue Growth: Develop and execute a district sales strategy to meet or exceed sales, margin, and market-share targets.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, coach, and mentor Territory Sales Representatives and Account Managers; conduct regular performance reviews and field visits.
- Customer Development: Build and maintain relationships with key contractors, industrial accounts, and distribution partners; participate in major account negotiations.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor competitive activity, pricing trends, and local construction/industrial market conditions to identify opportunities.
- Operational Alignment: Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and customer service teams to ensure product availability, service excellence, and timely delivery.
- Pipeline & Forecasting: Maintain accurate sales forecasts, CRM updates, and reporting; use data to guide decision-making and resource allocation.
- Safety & Compliance: Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
- 5+ years of progressive sales experience in industrial, construction, building materials, or related B2B distribution.
- Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring a sales team.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding revenue targets in a territory-based sales environment.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Financial and analytical skills, including experience with forecasting, margin management, and CRM systems.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly within the district.
