Dispatcher

We are seeking an experienced Dispatcher to join our team. The ideal candidate has a background in freight brokerage and is able to respond quickly and effectively to changing situations. This is an excellent opportunity to work in an exciting LTL, FTL environment where you will be working closely with drivers to coordinate & plan out the most fuel-efficient & cost-effective loads. Duties and Responsibilities: Schedule and dispatch drivers to pick up and deliver loads to and from customers Be the reliable point of contact for the drivers to successfully balance the driver’s health and safety with customer requirements Assist in achieving the objectives of the pick-up and drop-off (P&D) operations, such as % on-time delivery, stops per hour Manage on-time performance of deliveries Plan the P&D activities and staffing required to meet the objectives Ensure drivers are aware of all/any unusual delivery/pickup requirements Prioritize and assign pickups to drivers to ensure maximum efficiency To be familiar with all P&D routes and any problem areas Ensure all appointment freight is brought to the attention of the AM Dock Supervisor and is loaded in a way to ensures on-time delivery Monitor and track all equipment as assigned or moved Any other duties that are assigned Requirements and Qualifications: Solid judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills and a proven record of taking the initiative and responsibility Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate within a diverse environment Working knowledge in software applications such as Word, Excel.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience handling transportation arrangements for our company, strong communication skills, and an eye for detail. The Freight Broker is responsible for setting up transportation routes and booking freight travel, so we are looking for candidates with knowledge of the transportation industry and good negotiation skills.
