POSITION SUMMARY
The Director, Power Construction is the senior divisional leader with full P&L ownership for the Power Construction division. The role is accountable for revenue growth, gross margin, EBITDA delivery, project execution performance, backlog quality, and safety.
The Director operates as the General Manager of the Construction division and ensures disciplined, predictable delivery of complex power construction projects while supporting the company's integrated lifecycle strategy:
Build → Equip → Maintain → Expand
This leader works closely with Power Equipment to integrate internally manufactured solutions into bids and with Power Services to enable long-term service attachment opportunities.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- Competitive salary range: $150,000 – $190,000 annually, depending on experience, certifications, and technical expertise

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own full divisional P&L performance, including revenue growth, gross margin, EBITDA, backlog quality, and risk profile
- Develop and execute the divisional Strategic Plan aligned with corporate growth objectives and Industrial/Commercial expansion
- Lead safe, predictable execution of all construction projects, ensuring schedule adherence, cost control, and quality outcomes
- Oversee estimating, pricing strategy, and go/no-go decisions to ensure disciplined margin management and executable backlog
- Partners with leaders across all lines of business to align capabilities and structure bundled service agreements that enhance competitiveness, drive revenue growth, and deliver integrated solutions to clients.
- Identify opportunities to expand service offerings, increase recurring revenue, and strengthen market position.
- Drives integration of internally manufactured equipment into project bids to enhance enterprise margin
- Partner with Power Services to position lifecycle service opportunities during project execution
- Maintain rigorous oversight of contract risk, change management, and cost-to-complete forecasting
- Build and lead a high-performing construction organization including Senior Project Managers, Estimating, and Business Development
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety standards
- Develop leadership bench strength and succession planning within the division
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Minimum 10 years progressive leadership experience in power construction or electrical contracting
- Experience in high-voltage electrical construction (substations, transmission, distribution, or industrial power systems) is an asset.
- Demonstrated direct P&L ownership with strong EBITDA performance history
- Deep expertise in project-based financial management, contract administration, and construction risk
- Experience overseeing estimating and bid strategy in complex infrastructure environments
- Strong operational leadership across field execution and project management teams
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-divisionally to support enterprise growth
- Experience in unionized construction environments preferred
