What You'll Do
The
Director of Operations
will have an integral role to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the Office in the areas of finance, human resources, administrative and strategic planning, providing leadership as well as executing operational tasks in a professional and effective manner.
Reporting to the Deputy Commissioner, you will act with integrity to:
- Coordinate and oversee the operational areas of the Office, including the supervision of administrative, information technology and policy staff.
- Develop and manage the Office budget and oversee day-to-day financial processes and expenditure tasks. Oversee purchasing and procurement needs.
- Coordinate human resources matters, including staff recruitment and onboarding.
- Manage the provision of IT services, and oversee IT projects to ensure successful and efficient outcomes.
- Liaise with landlord and building facility staff to ensure a well-run working environment.
- Develops and implements organizational policies, ensuring compliance with relevant workplace legislation, and oversees risk management.
- Lead the development and implementation of the strategic plans and carry out special operational projects when needed.
How You Qualify
In this role, you will need:
- University undergraduate degree or equivalent related experience equal to 8–10 years with specialized subject knowledge to gain university undergraduate equivalency.
- Experience as a senior leader with a track record of providing strategic planning and operational systems advice.
- Knowledge of management techniques, strong administrative and organization skills are required to coordinate and track a wide variety of assignments and activities. Proven track record of working on multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required to formulate and communicate recommendations, strategic and operational plans and procedures, as well as requests to vendors and operational partners.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Strong leadership skills are required to direct and motivate staff.
- Work requires a good understanding of the fundamental principles of the Members' Integrity Act, 1994, the Public Service of Ontario Act, 2006, the Lobbyists Registration Act, 1998, the Cabinet Ministers' and Opposition Leaders' Expenses Review and Accountability Act, 2002 and the Public Sector Expenses Review Act, 2009, for which the Commissioner is responsible.
