The Opportunity
Based in Lethbridge, Alberta, theDirector of Finance will provide strategic financial leadership for five Canadian and one U.S. manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for the full financial stewardship of the company and will serve as a trusted business partner to senior leadership, driving financial performance, operational efficiency, and long‑term value creation. The successful candidate will lead a high‑performing finance team, strengthen financial planning and analysis capabilities, and support strategic decision‑making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, costing, cash management, and internal controls
- Act as a strategic advisor to divisional leadership, providing insight on product pricing/costing and resulting margin/profitability, working capital, capital investments, and risk management
- Own the division’s financial planning and analysis function, including long‑range planning, scenario modelling, annual budgets, and rolling forecasts
- Partner with operational leaders to evaluate performance, explain variances, and identify risks and opportunities
- Oversee and mentor the finance and accounting team (AP, AR, payroll, costing, etc.), fostering a collaborative and service‑oriented culture
- Review and assess financial and contractual risks associated with commercial, operational and insurance decisions
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and corporate reporting requirements across Canada and the U.S.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation required
- Minimum 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing or multi‑site environment with costing and inventory or production‑related financial oversight
- Proven ability to operate as a strategic business partner to senior leadership
- Strong financial modelling, analytical, and decision‑making skills
- Demonstrated success building and leading high‑performing finance teams
- Experience in cross‑border operations, 401K compliance, and EDC requirements considered an asset
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
