Job Description Mission

Our Energy team in the GTA is looking for a Director (Hydropower and Dams) to partake in the project management, business development, coordination of multidisciplinary teams, be technical expert in design, inspection or restoration of various energy, dam, and hydropower facilities. The incumbent will demonstrate resourcefulness and initiative to carry out their tasks in an environment where empowerment is highly valued. This will be a hybrid role based in proximity of Mississauga or Niagara regions.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Ensure full management of the projects entrusted to him at the level of study, engineering, construction and commissioning.
  2. Coordinate the work of multidisciplinary teams in several locations
  3. Lead and grow a multidisciplinary team focussed on Hydropower and Dams market
  4. Direct and supervise the progress of engineering work, activities related to estimating and construction in order to ensure a smooth progress of activities in accordance with established objectives
  5. Mentor and supervise the work of engineers and technicians
  6. Solve technical problems requiring research or in-depth analysis

Qualifications

  • University Degree in civil or structural engineering
  • Member of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or eligible to obtain professional license
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred
  • Proven minimum 10 years of experience in project management activities, including overseeing of scope, schedule, resources, quality, and budget to ensure the project is delivered on budget and schedule
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the design of concrete and steel structures
  • Experience with water retaining structures and dam engineering
