Canadian Tire Burlington Fairview is looking for a Delivery Driver / Warehouse Associate to join our Warehouse Team. You are an experienced warehouse professional with inventory management experience, are customer forward and comfortable with making customer deliveries. This position includes a lot of heavy lifting and carrying.

We are URGENTLY hiring for Delivery Driver / Warehouse Associate (Full Time – must be available days, evenings & weekends as shift times will vary seasonally. Peak season shifts are Tuesday to Sunday 10am to 7pm)

  • Drive, load, and unload merchandise to various customer locations and offsite warehouse location.
  • Assist customers with product pick up from the warehouse.
  • Operates computer and scanning tools, and enters all relevant coding in Canadian Tire systems.
  • Receives, scans, verifies, and stores all incoming and overstock products according to established procedures and policies.
  • Ships returns and completes proper paperwork.
  • Ensures that products are received, verified, stored, and transported to the sales floor or in the warehouse in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Responding to and handling customer and staff inquiries, requests, and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining housekeeping disciplines in the warehouse in order to facilitate location of products by all staff.
  • Reconciles inventory differences.
  • Prepares merchandise for filing, sorts and fills merchandise carts for the retail floor.
  • Is responsible for garbage disposal, cardboard recycling, and the disposal of broken products in accordance with store policy.
  • Is responsible for the safe operation of all warehouse equipment (forklift, skyjack etc.).
  • Processes damaged and returned claims.
  • Repairs broken packages as needed.
  • Handles dangerous goods and hazardous products according to established procedures.
  • Participates in training as required, including Canadian Tire University modules and classes as well as Windley Ely Health & Safety modules.

Requirements:

  • AZ license. Comfortable with a cube van.
  • Responsible & safe driver.
  • Criminal record check & bondable.
  • Team-oriented & results driven individual with a positive attitude.
  • High energy & stamina.
  • Comfortable with heavy lifting.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Standing/walking for 8 hours.
  • Lifting and/or carrying of merchandise items, as required, on a regular, frequent and unassisted basis. Merchandise items may vary in weight from “light” to “heavy” (50lbs+).
  • Lifting and turning repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Frequent repetitve hand actions.
  • Required to bend, squat and twist, reaching & lifting above shoulder height and below waist level for 8 hours.
  • Ability to go up and down a ladder and stairs while carrying merchandise.
  • Walking while carrying at the same time and pushing/pulling, as required.
