Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Deli Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of deli items, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food preparation, food safety, and customer interaction within a fast-paced food industry setting.

We are looking for someone who is available anytime or a mix of mornings, evenings and weekends.

Duties

• Prepare deli items such as sandwiches, salads, and other food products according to company standards.
• Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, for accurate cash handling and transactions.
• Serve customers with professionalism and enthusiasm, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
• Manage food safety and sanitation standards by maintaining cleanliness of work areas and adhering to health regulations.
• Upsell products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
• Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems and perform basic math calculations for change.
• Restock deli cases and ensure product displays are appealing and well-organized.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels and report shortages or issues to management.

Requirements

• Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or food industry preferred; kitchen experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy.
• Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with POS systems such as Micros POS is desirable.
• Food preparation skills including slicing, assembling, and portioning deli products.
