Our Challenge:
We are looking for a Database Developer who will be responsible for creating, administering and troubleshooting computer databases that can process large amounts of information and keep it secure. Duties include using code and web architecture to design data systems, analyze and maintain existing databases and implement new user features.
Responsibilities:
- Design stable, reliable and effective databases
- Optimize and maintain legacy systems
- Modify databases according to requests and perform tests
- Solve database usage issues and malfunctions
- Liaise with developers to improve applications and establish best practices
- Gather user requirements and identify new features
- Develop technical and training manuals
- Provide data management support to users
- Ensure all database programs meet company and performance requirements
- Research and suggest new database products, services and protocols
Requirements:
Min 7+ years’ experience using SQL in application development and database administration.
• Expert in SQL – complex multi-table joins, nesting, correlation etc.
• Able to design, document, create and maintain data structures for complex business data – tablespace, tables, indexes, views, partitioning etc.
• Able to provide environmental support – escalating issues when necessary to other DBA groups.
• Able to grasp and understand business context and become expert in the underlying business data.
• Confident in dealing with administration of development environments, and in working with other DBAs for higher environments.
• Team player – able to work with developers in multiple technologies (Java, Ab Initio) to assist in impact analysis, design, and implementation of SQL queries/performance etc.
• Experienced working with QA teams.
