Reporting to the Supervisor, Compliance Health and Safety, the Coordinator, Safety and Loss Control is responsible for the administration and coordination of site safety programs. This position will be dedicated to being a resource for Fording River Operational groups, focused on ensuring Health and Safety of employees and contractors.
This is a permanent role that follows a 4 x 4 schedule. To be successful, we require someone who can multitask, stay organized, andsupport multiple scopes within a fast-paced team environment. The successfulindividual is self-motivated and possesses strong attention to detail, problem solving, and decision-making abilities. This role involves collaborating with contractors and stakeholders on safety initiatives and programs, thus a flexible attitude, and strong communication and interpersonal skills are vital for success.

Come experience what work life balance is all about Responsibilities: Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures Apply continuous improvement processes and systems to improve health and safety performance Advise, coach, and lead contractors and internal teams to ensure proper high potential risk controls are implemented, and occupational health and safety standards and legal requirements are fulfilled Coordinate and administer safety systems and programs, such as SiteLine EHS Tracking System, internal and external site tours, audits, inspections, contractor management, and high potential risk control strategy Perform general safety-related duties and facilitate follow-up actions Qualifications: High School Diploma, or equivalent Class 5 driver’s license Experience with Microsoft Office Suite® Working knowledge of applicable HSRC regulations or similar Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Health and Safety, or OFA Level 3 would be an asset Relevant experience in mining, exploration drilling, or operational experience in construction or other heavy industry is an asset About Teck Successful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a pre-employment drug screen and three professional references.
