Occupational Health and Safety & Food Safety Operations Coordinator reviews, evaluates and monitors health and safety hazards and develops strategies to prevent, control and eliminate accidents and occupational injuries. They inspect the workplace environments, equipment and practices to ensure compliance with organization and government legislations, health and safety standards and regulations simultaneously with a focus on Food Safety compliance and record keeping
**Hereu2019s where youu2019ll be focusing:**
u00b7 Develop and implement health and safety programs, including standard operating policies and procedures.
u00b7 Identify safety training requirements, schedule and facilitate training and make recommendations to the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee (JOHSC).
u00b7 Co-Chair the JOHSC, ensuring collaboration with the committee, management team, and employees to support and advance a positive culture of Health and Safety (H&S).
u00b7 Communicate, coach, engage and influence decision-makers and workers, to ensure compliance with Health & Safety (H&S) legislation and regulations.
u00b7 Investigate accidents and identify root causes and enforce preventative measures.
u00b7 Conduct safety observation audits.
u00b7 Maintain, update, prepare and present reports on company''s safety procedures, accidents and violations.
u00b7 Maintain and update all record keeping and tracking for H&S and food safety.
u00b7 Act in the capacity of a subject matter expert for Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA): Food Safety regulations and policies.
u00b7 Maintain the warehouse Food Safety Program, liaise with the National Food Safety team and management, to develop and implement new processes as required.
u00b7 Closely monitor CFIA and the recall system.
u00b7 Coordinate and conduct CFIA visits/inspections at the RSC.
u00b7 Extensive experience of deep clean and sanitation P&P, mold prevention and decontamination.
u00b7 Expert knowledge of cross contamination, allergens, environmental spills, emergency response plans, pest infestation and control.
u00b7 Compliance with all Company food safety standards, guidelines and procedures.
u00b7 Other duties as assigned by management

**What you have to offer:**
u00b7 The ideal candidate will have a combination of experience and education that lays a foundation for success in Occupational Health & Safety. A diploma and or 5 years of work experience in H&S, preferably in the industrial sector (e.g., distribution warehouse, mechanical repair shop) or comparable environment.
u00b7 Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate a team and provide feedback.
u00b7 Strong knowledge of relevant legislation in Ontario, including JOHSA and Workers Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB).
u00b7 Expert knowledge of CFIA- federal acts and regulations related to food safety in Canada:
o Food and Drugs Act
o Safe Food for Canadians Act
u00b7 Strong ability to gather and analyze data from multiple sources and format measurable action plans.
u00b7 Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills, and the ability to interact easily at all levels of the organization.
u00b7 Attentive to details, keen observational skills, decisive, ability to handle stress and manage time.
u00b7 Previous experience conducting workplace inspections and investigations in a similar industry will be an asset.
u00b7 Comprehensive skills with Microsoft Office, EXE, Ariba, Kronos. (Preferred)
u00b7 Ability to work various shifts, based on business needs.

The salary range for this position is
**$48,000.00**
