THE COMPANY
Our client, a medium-sized Architecture, Design and Planning firm, is seeking a skilled Contract Administrator/Project Manager in Edmonton. With a very collaborative and open environment, our client pushes the boundaries with innovative cost-aware design. Our client has projects in a variety of sectors including health & wellness, commercial, retail, hospitality, industrial and residential.

THE ROLE
Reporting to the senior partners, the Contract Administrator/Project Manager will be working primarily as the site representative and will work in collaboration with construction managers, owners representatives, general contractors and their sub-trades. In addition to administrating change control procedures, contract administration methodologies and policy development, you will ensure that projects adhere to the contract documents and the building and safety codes. You will prepare project manuals, tender documents and work with technical specifications for large architectural projects. Other components of this role will be reviewing and amending shop drawings, revising contracts and working with site instructions and RFIs to ensure projects run smoothly and to schedule. Candidate must have experience managing projects. You will manage the projects from start to finish, overseeing cost control, project delivery, schedules, and quality control.

WHAT'S REQUIRED

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the preparation and administration of contract documents working in a construction related capacity (technologist, project manager, construction supervisor, etc.) on a range of projects
  • PMP Designation an asset
  • Proficient with the various forms of the Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC)
  • Thorough understanding or architectural specification and its application as an instrument of contract administration
  • Proficient in the application of the National building code, ideally with comprehensive knowledge in large and/or complex buildings
  • Capable reviewing drawings compiled in both Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Possess a variety of project experience
