Taylor Ryan has partnered with a well known general contractor that specializes in building commercial tenant improvement and new build projects throughout BC. The ideal fit would be a someone with a technical institute such as a Construction Management or Architectural Building Technology diploma and 5 years experience in construction management in a mixture of previous Project Coordinator/Assistant Project Manager/Project Engineering positions. This position will report into the Director of Construction.ResponsibilitiesOversee all stages of project life cycleManage project budgetReview documents, project drawings, contracts, and specifications in detail and inform the appropriate team about potential issues or conflicts.Plan and manage daily operations and construction schedules while monitoring project progress.Monitor expenditures effectively, review invoices in detail, and manage labour and material costs according to the project budget and underlying estimate.Prepare contracts and confidently negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements.Liaise with the project team, clients, consultants and sub-contractors.Train and mentor Project Coordinators.Qualifications5 years of experience in Construction Project ManagementPrior experience working for a General Contractor in the construction industry within commercial, industrial and institutional projectsDemonstrated success in projects between $2-20MStrong organizational and project management skillsIndustry knowledge and ability to read blueprintsDetail-oriented and strong communication skillsProject Manager certificate/diploma is considered an assetDemonstrated understanding of construction terms, scheduling, and planning conceptsProficiency with construction drawings, MS Office Applications including strong writing & communication skillsValid Driver’s License
