The Conference Coordinator and Project Manager will be responsible for managing various print and digital projects as well as leading the planning of the content component of conferences and webinars.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing and Projects, primary responsibilities will include:
- Lead all group benefits, pension and investments events, from beginning to end; oversee the successful execution of conferences and participants’ roles/responsibilities. In this role you will work closely alongside the sales and marketing departments.
- Liaise with numerous industry experts, academic and sponsor partners to showcase and deliver best-in-class education to audience members.
- Develop written content for all in-person and virtual conferences, spanning the group benefits and pension industries; proofread text (session summaries, speaker biographies etc.) before deployment to ensure they align with the Benefits Canada style guide.
- Manage various print and digital custom projects from start to finish; may include custom print magazine articles, roundtable reports and digital products.
- Proofread and pre-screen sponsor/editorial presentations.
- Manage and own relationships with key contacts from corporate sponsors for events; hold their hand throughout the process from planning to execution to ensure they are satisfied.
- Schedule and lead calls with corporate sponsors and their speakers as well as editorial/non-sponsored speakers to ensure they deliver presentations that are appropriate and educational for the Benefits Canada audience.
- Create conference agenda, scripts and discussion guides.
- Research editorial sessions for conference/webinar agendas.
- Work directly with the plan sponsor, group insurer, investment and consulting communities to uncover their greatest challenges – translating this into event, print and digital content.
- Confirm all conference materials and presentation are organized and aligned with publication branding.
Qualifications:
- University/college diploma in a related field.
- Previous experience link with the main responsibilities (1-2 years).
- Time management and organization skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Team player, reliable and has strong work ethics.
- Problem solving skills and analytical skills; ability to investigate problems with minimal supervision.
- Fast learner and can handle pressure.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
- Existing knowledge/experience in the group benefits, pension and/or investment industries considered a strong asset.
- Bilingual (French) considered a strong asset
- Experience writing and editing in CP style considered an asset.
