Community Support Worker
Job Description
At G.O.A.T. Support Services, we believe every person deserves to live a life that feels meaningful, connected, and self-directed. We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Community Support Worker who is committed to walking alongside individuals as they build independence, confidence, and community belonging.
In this role, you will partner with individuals to support their personal goals, daily routines, and community participation. Support may include assistance with personal care, skill development, transportation, social inclusion, and navigating everyday activities. Most importantly, you will focus on strengths, choice, and dignity, supporting people to make decisions about their own lives.
We are looking for someone who is patient, adaptable, and genuinely invested in creating safe, respectful, and empowering environments. Your role is not to "do for," but to "support with," encouraging autonomy while ensuring safety and well being.
What You'll Do
- Provide individualized, person centered support based on each person's goals and preferences
- Promote independence and self advocacy
- Support participation in community, recreation, and daily living activities
- Assist with personal care when required, always maintaining dignity and respect
- Communicate effectively with team members, families, and support networks
- Maintain professional documentation aligned with organizational standards
What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting individuals with diverse abilities in community or residential settings
- Class 5 BC Driver's License (Class 4 required for some programs)
- Valid First Aid Certification
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A calm, flexible, and collaborative approach
- Commitment to inclusive, strengths based, and trauma informed practices
We value team members who see the whole person, not just their support needs and who are motivated by building meaningful relationships and inclusive communities.
If you are passionate about person-centered support and making a genuine difference, we would love to connect with you.
