Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Communications, the Communications Coordinator supports the development and execution of marketing and communications initiatives that promote the organization's programs, services, and brand. This role contributes to content creation, digital marketing, partner collaboration, and event support to help expand reach and engagement.

What You Will Do

  • Develop, edit, and proof copy for member communications and marketing materials, including traditional advertisements, digital content, flyers, brochures, newsletters, and exhibit resources.
  • Create, update, and modify marketing materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment.
  • Assist in planning, scheduling and creating social media content.
  • Identify promotional opportunities through partner websites, newsletters, and other channels.
  • Support backlink strategies that drive eligible audiences to the organization's websites.
  • Collaborate with partner organizations to expand digital reach and visibility.
  • Engage in cooperative efforts with internal departments to develop effective communications and marketing materials.
  • Assist in creating resources for ARTA partners, committees, branches, and the Alberta Retired Teachers Charitable Foundation.
  • Support production and coordination of ARTA's quarterly print magazine.
  • Provide day-to-day marketing coordination and on-site support for community events as needed.
  • Uphold corporate communications policies, procedures, and brand standards in line with overall marketing and organizational strategy.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring

  • Pursuing degree or diploma in area such as communications, journalism, English, or marketing.
  • Superior written, verbal, and proofreading skills (in the English language).
  • Ability to work independently on a day-to-day basis, as well as the outgoing demeanor needed to work in a team.
  • Demonstrated strengths in communication; listening; strategic thinking and interpersonal skills.
  • A high level of attention to detail as well as project and time management skills.
  • A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
