- Advising clients on commercial property transactions, including sales, purchases, and leases.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating lease agreements and other property documents.
- Conducting due diligence on property transactions and providing advice on the same.
- Handling property portfolio management matters, including lease renewals and rent reviews.
- Assisting with property finance transactions, including refinancing and loan security work.
- Liaising with other departments and teams within the firm on related matters.
- To actively generate new business for the Firm.
- To build and maintain strong client and referrer relationships.
- To assist with the development of the Firm’s commercial property law expertise through:
- Networking within the business community and key referral sources in order to develop a high profile for commercial work.
- Contributing ideas to the Firm’s marketing strategy for winning new work and implementing agreed initiatives.
- To identify and initiate cross-selling opportunities.
- To take responsibility for your own personal and professional development and ensure compliance with any compulsory professional education requirements.
- To assist with the supervision of support staff within the department (where applicable) and encourage support staff in their development and training.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in commercial property law.
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial property law and the ability to handle complex transactions independently.
- A self-starter who enjoys business development and would like to develop their business development skills.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
- A client-focused approach and excellent communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- The ability to work as part of a team and to develop relationships with clients and other professionals.
The successful applicant will already be a commercial property solicitor looking for career development. As a successful applicant you will have your own network of clients, intermediaries and other contacts in the property sector.
