Join our team, and help recognize a healthy future for your career and for all Canadians.Why this role is important?The Law Clerk will provide support in the coordination and execution of legal documentation, agreements, and initiatives within the business.What you’ll do:Transactions & Projects:First point of contact for business requests relating to franchise documentsReview and revise franchise disclosure packagesConduct and report on due diligence searchesDraft transactional agreements relating to franchise grants, renewals, amendments, asset purchases, in-store sales of wine/beer, etc.Ensure that security registrations are made and maintainedLiaise with business colleagues to ensure execution and retention of key contractsWork with in-house legal counsel on various transactions and projectsDocument Templates:Create and revise template documents, including those relating to franchise grants, asset purchase transactions and share purchase transactionsUpdate franchise disclosure documents on an annual basis, including executing internal verification procedures to capture changes in material factsUpdate franchise manual as necessaryProcesses and Tools:Maintain precedent database/version controlOngoing contact with IT department to implement new technologies and improve contract compilation toolsChampion records management processesWhat you’ll need:Completion of Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario Law Clerk ProgramMinimum 5 years of experience in a Law Clerk role preferredExcellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skillsSuperb communication skills, both written and verbalStrong relationship building skills both internal and external of the legal departmentTeam player, comfortable in a highly collaborative environmentKeen attention to detail, Process-orientedProficient with MS Office SuiteStrong interest in, and experience with, new technologies for law practice managementWhy work at Shoppers Drug Mart?Acting as consultants, supporting internal customers and the Associate-Owners, you will get experience unique to the retail industry while working for an award-winning national brand.
